Multi Award winning composer and musician, Mark Barnes, ThE BaD BoY oF ChilL OuT, is set to open your third eye – musically speaking.
Barnes’ music has been featured in numerous magazines and web sites, including EmmeK New Age and New Sounds Magazine (Dec. 2007) and AMMA AnR (Aug. 2007). He was a top 20 finalist in the instrumental category for the 11th annual edition of Unisong’s International Songwriting Contest and was the featured artist for October 2007 on the “Pulse of the Planet” radio program. Additionally, Barnes was awarded the 2008 Independent National Artist of the year award from the Phoenix Music Awards and was a performer as well as the recipient of the 2008 Hollywood F.A.M.E. Award for Music & Cinema at the 18th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards, the 2009 Soloist of the Year Award at the 19th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards, the 2010 Composer of the Year at the 20th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards and most recently the recipient of the 2010 Genre Award in Music at the Pride in the Arts Music Awards sponsored by Rainbow World Radio.
Barnes music is regularly played on Mystic Age Radio, Mystic Soundscapes Internet Radio, 93.7 WGYL FM in Florida, the Cygnus Radio program and I-Tunes New Age Internet Radio Station. His songs have been selected for several compilation CDs. He recently completed the music for the Docu-Drama “City of Drams” with 2 time Academy Award Nominee Carol Connors and won the Best Theme Song at the 2011 TCI Film Fest and was also awarded the Outstanding Musician for the Instrumental/Soundtrack category at the Live Nation sponsored OutMusic Awards which was held in New York City on May 23, 2011.
The artist is busy putting the final touches on his forthcoming “Alive” CD release, as well as preliminary planning for a 2012 tour which will feature digital animation and live action video coupled with his music. “The goal is to combine the two for a live stage performance similar to the ‘Mind’s Eye’ video series and Animusic video,” where people can come see the music, he explains.
